The heidi main contact and Local administrators

The heidi order form asks for three heidi contacts - a heidi main contact and two local administrators. (Nb. The heidi main contact may also be a local administrator). The heidi main contact will be the first point of contact for HESA on issues relating to the overall use of heidi by an organisation aswell as the appointment or alteration of local administrators.

The local administrators manage the implementation of heidi within their subscribed organisation. Every subscribing organisation needs to identify at least two local administrators. Ideally, local administrators would have good knowledge of HE statistics and be IT literate.

The local administrator performs the following functions through the web interface:

  • user administration (creating, updating and deleting accounts and managing permissions)
  • creating organisation-wide reports and groups
  • first line support for organisation users
  • managing local news items within the system
